Description of Project :

Cooperative diversity antenna array (CDAA) relay is a network infrastructure enhancement technology for current and future telemedicine network which is easily deployable, and low in production cost. The scheme supports data transmission of medical services such as audio, video data and live streaming in wireless network. The initial concept will be simulated using Simulink and NS2 network simulation software to obtain the ideal hardware components that makes up the antenna arrays. The hardware components will be implemented in a reconfigurable Software Defined Radio (SDR), where the cooperative function will be integrated into the SDR software. The scheme will solve the limitation in long distance transmission in telemedicine’s wireless network by deploying multiple CDAA relay. The cooperation between the antenna creates multiple path or redundancy within the wireless transmission network, and therefore guarantees link between source and destination. It is vital in telemedicine network to have such reliable communication infrastructure to support an enhanced telemedicine services in the future.
